HOW TO MAKE A UNICORN costume

If I have to critique the unicorn costume I produced infant Allie, I’d state that her horn is as well huge for her bit head. other than that, what she’s using is comfy as well as whimsical, as well as thankfully, she does not have the capability to criticize the method she’s been dressed. as well as unicorns? They are on trend.

What you requirement to make a infant unicorn costume

A pair of white pajamas or ordinary white attire was my blank canvas.

As an aside, I got this (below) graphic in a promo email from DoodlePants, so if you like the hoodie with built-in unicorn ears, order from Amazon.

I’m not truly into having an emblem of what one is dressing up as on the breast of the costume. It reminds me of store-bought costumes from the 80s. A youngster would wear a plastic Garfield mask as well as then a plastic large smock with a photo of Garfield on the torso. WHY?

Ok, back to the diy unicorn, right here are all the pieces of the unicorn costume building up from the white bodysuit.

First the horn, as this is the only tricky part of the costume. I bought gold sticky-back foam as well as cut an 8×10 sheet of it into a quarter circle.

I quickly realized that if I peeled the sticky back off of it as well as folded it into a cone, the entire inside of the cone would be sticky as well as draw in any type of hair that Allie has on her head, so I put a sheet of scrap paper inside, cutting it to ensure that only the strip that I needed to abide by the other side of the horn would be exposed.

I punched holes in two sides, near the bottom edge, as well as then utilized a pipe cleaner to connect the horn to a headband, which I then wrapped with a length of a mini-feather boa.

I’m sure there are any type of number of other methods you might do this, including ordering this unicorn horn for a feline or this tail as well as horn set for a kid.

For Allie’s simple unicorn tail, I safety pinned one more length of glittery boa.

And that’s it! She even looks quite happy with her glittery wonderful self.
